About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a Cost Accountant with a continuous improvement mind set to join our Finance team, based at our Echuca site this newly created role reports to the Plant Accountant. You will provide support to the business through ownership of product costing and analysis to ensure that financial and strategic objectives are achieved.
What am I responsible for?
- Detailed product costing for over 150 SKUs
- Provide insights and analysis of product variances, yield and labour
- Support new product innovation costing requirements, from conception through to commercial production
- Complete daily and weekly site operational performance reports
- Identify opportunities for profitability improvement and support key stakeholders to deliver agreed financial targets in support of Simplot’s strategy
- Assist with site month end, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, budgeting and capital requirements.
What does success look like?
We are seeking an analytical thinker who is keen to leave their mark. You will be a qualified accounting professional, CA/CPA accredited or currently working towards this. You will have some experience in cost accounting/management accounting ideally within a manufacturing environment where you have gained sound financial management skills (balance sheet reconciliations, bill of materials, capital expenditure and product costings). You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of financial information systems and have advanced use of Excel.
This is a fulltime permanent role, however flexible work options may be considered.
Location: This role is based in Echuca, which is only 3 hours from Melbourne. The region offers a wonderful climate, beautiful riverside locations and a surprising array of shops, cafés and eateries.
